Sustaining Community
Sustaining Community is a multi-organizational structure which generates specific relationships among various independent organizations designed to achieve goals of community sustainability. This model is developed locally so the relationship format is the result of study of local resources and organizations. The initial structure includes WebSpirit Community, Sustaining Community Group Networking and OurNexChange.
Several of the associations are actually created by the association itself to manage the overall operation, and yet each is independant in order to also serve the outside public.
In addition to the ground level relationship of key sustainability organizations the system provides a container for the communication and visibility of any organization.
The vision is to provide this whole region with a central communication facility to overcome our isolation and harness the power of a cohesive community, and like-minded businesses and organizations.
